North Kings GSA Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) New Project Solicitation

The North Kings GSA is actively soliciting new projects to be considered for addition to the Project List in the Groundwater Sustainability Plan. North Kings GSA member agencies are encouraged to submit projects as they plan for their individual groundwater extraction mitigation responsibilities.

The GSP must show definitive projects to mitigate groundwater overdraft occurring in the North Kings GSA. Project submissions should clarify who the project benefit will be attributed to. Demand-side projects should also be included.

The solicitation period will end on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 5:00 PM.

The project form can be accessed at the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/jGtsbhnrph

An official recommendation for project additions will be brought to the Advisory Committee on June 11, 2021.

Workgroup will develop two board policies, meeting scheduled for September 24, 2020

A workgroup is being formed to develop two new board policies for groundwater management: Member Agency Reporting Policy and New Well Policy. Those interested in joining this first workgroup should contact North Kings GSA Executive Officer Kassy Chauhan at northkingsgsa@gmail.com, or fill out our online comment form. The first meeting of the workgroup is scheduled for September 24, 2020 at 10:30 AM.

The two policies will directly impact sustainability efforts by enabling the North Kings GSA to track milestones on the road to sustainability by 2040 and widen its involvement in Fresno County’s well drilling permit process within the service area. The collaborative workgroup model was adopted as a Workgroup Policy at the North Kings GSA’s April Board Meeting and invites direct participation from the public, member agency representatives, and other stakeholders.
